We report the mRNA found in hypothalamus of a migratory bird. The aim of this study was to study how the mRNA makeup of tissue varies under different seasonal states. Overall design: Study of total mRNA from hypothalamus under two different seasonal states, using Illumina Sequencing The terms "sensitive" and "refractory" are used with respect to the sensitivity of birds to photoperiod change. Our experiment has used birds that respond to seasonal changes in photoperiod and undergo changes in their general physiology. Therefore, when the birds respond to the photoperiodic change they are called "sensitive/photosensitive" and when they are unresponsive, we call them "refractory/ photorefractory".
