Our team focuses on the function of pseudo-kinases, which have no catalytic activity but do have regulatory activities. One of our project is based on the study of the GCC (guanylyl cyclase C) receptor that play a crucial role in maintaining intestinal tract homeostasis, GC-C dysfunction leading to numerous intestinal diseases. Our aim is to understand the mechanisms of activation of this receptor and in this context, structural details are missing. This proposal will help us to obtain a high-resolution structure of GC-C in its activated and inactivated states.
