Horseflies Hybomitra were collected in August 2021 in Kamchatka Krai, near Yelizovo town, Russia. The collected horseflies were identified as Hybomitra lurida using a taxonomic keys. For shotgun analysis of microbiome a pool of insects of both sexes (10 individuals) was used; insects were dissected to collect the internal organs of the thorax and abdomen for the subsequent isolation of DNA using a QIAamp DNA Microbiome kit.
