Dataset containing information on the Brunssum-Schinveld / South-Limburg pottery production region. For this region, an up to date overview of production sites has been generated, based on published and unpublished findspots. Several findspots have been reviewed in more detail and are subject of the object catalogue. One of the main aims of this research is to produce a dataset that is suited for explaining the variability in produced ceramics, foremost for the earliest production era commonly referred to as "Periode A". Exploring this variability, several associations with the Rhenish productions of Pingsdorf-type and Meusevalley productions of pre-Andenne type come to light. Synthesising the results, it is obvious that past research into the wares produced at Brunssum-Schinveld and Landgraaf has failed to critically review its own dating bias.
