MEDUSA

MEDUSA (MEDiterranean Unified Sighting Archive) is the most extensive harmonized database of Mediterranean gelatinous plankton compiled to date. MEDUSA integrates 201,777 records from 56 independent projects, covering the entire basin from 1810 to 2026, with particularly strong coverage during the Anthropocene. The dataset consolidates information from both published and unpublished scientific surveys as well as from citizen science initiatives, providing a unified and standardized view of jellyfish presence and absence throughout the Mediterranean Sea.
