A CROSS-LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF DIPLOMATIC VOCABULARY IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK

Diplomatic terminology constitutes one of the most significant components of political and institutional communication. It reflects not only linguistic structures but also the historical, cultural, and ideological characteristics of a nation. The present article investigates diplomatic terms in English and Uzbek through a comparative linguistic perspective. The study focuses on semantic, pragmatic, and functional features of diplomatic vocabulary and examines the similarities and differences between the two languages. Diplomatic terms are analyzed as specialized lexical units that perform strategic communicative functions in international relations. The research demonstrates that despite universal diplomatic conventions, English and Uzbek diplomatic terminology exhibit distinctions in lexical formation, stylistic representation, and pragmatic usage. The article also emphasizes the influence of globalization and international political interaction on the development of diplomatic language. The findings contribute to comparative linguistics, diplomatic discourse studies, and terminology research.
