Large herbivore censuses from Kruger Park

The data set includes count totals subdivided among four regions across almost the entire 19,500 km2 extent of the Kruger National Park, for 11 large herbivore species, from "Ecological Aerial Surveys". Surveys were conducted annually from 1977 to 1996 using standard methods, but park coverage was complete only from 1980 to 1993. A finer regional breakdown of these data is also available, but contains some errors and omissions. There are supporting data on the age and sex structure of samples of these populations covering 1983-1996. Rainfall data are also available.
