Klebsiella pneumoniae Raw sequence reads and Assembly Data

MDR Klebsiella pneumoniae was isolated from the vaginal swab of an infertile woman. The sample was taken from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and sequenced at the Genome Centre, Infectious Diseases Division, ICDDR,B, then analyzed at the Food and Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Microbiology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Using different bioinformatics tools, the genome was analyzed for antibiotic-resistant genes, as well as other virulence and mobile genetic elements, including plasmids. To my knowledge, this is the first whole-genome sequencing of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from a vaginal swab of an infertile woman in Bangladesh. Thus, this effort will fill the data gap in Bangladesh and enrich the database, eventually enabling us to compare data from other regions, which may have an impact on public health.
