VPRS 9925 Outward Letter Books

This series comprises Outward Letter Books created by the A.U. Alcock Electric Light and Motive Power Company (VA 3967) from 1891 to 1899. The outward letter books contain a hand written copy all outward correspondence sent by an organisation.The correspondence includes reports to the Electrical Inspector, applications for Orders-in-Council and negotiation for the sale of the company to Electric Light and Traction Company (Melbourne Electric Supply Company). Correspondence in the volumes is also arranged in chronological order. Each piece of correspondence is allocated a registration or folio number. In most of the volumes the numbers of the previous and subsequent letters are indicated by an annotation in blue pencil on individual folios.Most of the volumes contain an alphabetical index located at the front of the volume.This series was originally part of SEC Archives series 70.
