Effects of foliar nitrogen‑fixing endophytes on onion growth under nitrogen‑deficient Hoagland solution in controlled conditions (2025)

This dataset contains controlled environment onion (Allium cepa L.) growth and tissue nutrient data from two growth room trials testing two endophyte inoculants (Methylobacterium symbioticum and Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus) under three fertilizer regimes (complete Standard Hoagland’s Solution (SHS), nitrogen-deficient SHS, and no SHS) in a factorial randomized complete block design. Plant height was measured at 4, 9, and 12 weeks after transplanting in Trial 1 and at 6 and 9 weeks after transplanting in Trial 2, with shoot fresh and dry biomass measured at harvest. Leaf tissue nutrients were assessed in Trial 1 at 9 and 14 weeks after transplanting using laboratory analysis and Picketa LENS measurements.
