Reduced Representation Bisulfite Sequencing was used to assess that changes in intestinal DNA methylation associated with NEC outbreak. Overall design: Preterm patients who had undergone bowel resection for stage III acute NEC constituted our positive NEC cases and preterm patients who had undergone resection for diseases other than NEC chosen as control (CTRL) group.
