Comparative transcriptomic and metabolite profiling reveals key factors regulating iron homeostasis in Cicer arietinum L. (chickpea) during iron starvation

The combinatorial approach of physiological, transcriptomic and GC-MS analysis provides a deep insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying genotype-specific responses to Fe starvation and identifies novel candidate genes that could be utilized for the generation of Fe-rich chickpea varieties.
