Psychotria boninensis genome sequencing

Genome sequencing of Psychotria boninensis Nakai was performed by using Roche 454 reads. Total genomic DNA of P. boninensis was extracted from fresh leaf collected from Hahajima Island (Sekimon; 26?40''10.1"N, 142?09''13.7"E), using the DNasy Plant Mini Kit. The extracted DNA was pyrosequenced using a 454 GS Junior System. Multiplex Identifier (MID) tags were used for multiplexing of this sample and another sample. These samples were combined. The row data were demultiplexed and MID tags removed from the reads using the Newbler software package.
