Lizards Thermophysiology

Our study investigates the impact of thermophysiological traits and resource availability on the abundance of lizard species in the Cerrado biome following flooding events. We found that thermoregulation, rather than resource availability, plays a critical role in determining species abundance. These findings have significant implications for conservation strategies, emphasizing the need to prioritize thermal refuges and habitat connectivity to mitigate the impacts of climate change on ectotherm populations.
