Bacillus altitudinis strain X-3 16S ribosomal RNA gene, partial sequence

In the work, bacteria secreting proteases were screened from soil near shrimp shell landfill, and the alkaline protease-producing strain X-3 identified as Bacillus altitudinis was isolated. Then, a new synergistic fermentation system was established by co-fermentation of Bacillus subtilis 01 and Bacillus altitudinis X-3 to produce chitin from shrimp shells (CBB). The obtained chitin was characterized by physiochemical properties, microstructure and adsorption capacity of heavy metal ions.
