We simulated crop rotation in a mesocosm experiment using 2 crops in the first crop cycle (spring barley and faba bean) and winter barley in the second cycle. High carbon amendments, namely sawdust and wheat straw, were also incorporated. The objective of our study was to determine the combined effect of crop rotation and addition of high carbon amendments on rhizosphere bacteria community structure and composition.
