The land use effect on microbial functions underlying soil methane fluxes have not been extensively characterized in floodplain ecosystems, despite their role as methane sources. Using metagenomics and metatranscriptomics we assessed the methane-cycling functionnal profiles for three soil depths (0-10, 20-30, 40-50 cm) in forests and croplands within the Lake St-Pierre floodplain (QC, Canada).
