The north American tarantula (Araneae, Theraphosidae) genus Aphonopelma is one of the most well studied tarantula lineages. To add to growing knowlege of these tarantulas, we aim to assemble a de novo chromosomal, reference genome for Aphonoplema marxi. We sequence PacBio HiFi and HiC data from a single, adult male specimen. The final assembly comprised of 17 autosomes, 1 X chromosome, and 127 unplaced scaffolds.
