Mixed Method appraisal Tool (MMAT, 2018) Assessment used in Scoping Review of Electromyography Evidence in Temporomandibular Disorder

This Dataset contains supplementary Excel files associated with a scoping review examining electromyography (EMG) evidence in temporomandibular disorders. The Mixed-Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT, 2018) was applied in a design-specific manner to appraise the methodological quality of included studies.Studies included were narrative review, theoretical papers, observational studies and expert commentaries were assessed using the MMAT screening questions only, as additional appraisal domains are not applicable to non-empirical study designs. No randamized controlled trials or true mixed-methods studies were identified in the review. Appraisal outcomes were used to contextualize the body of evidence rather than to exclude studies or to apply quantitative weighting.
