Synteny-based genome assembly for 16 species of Heliconius butterflies, and an assessment of structural variation across the genus

Reference-guided genome assemblies and gene annotations for 16 species of <em>Heliconius</em> butterflies. Each species (spp) initial genome assembly was scaffolded either by aligning scaffolds to the <em>H. melpomene</em> (hmelv25) or <em>H. erato demophoon</em> (heradem) reference genome, and this is indicated in the file names: [spp]-2-hmelv25 and [spp]-2-heradem. The same prefixes were used for the gene annotation files. We also include de novo mitogenome assemblies of these 16 species plus the outgroup (Eueides tales - etal).
