Probing the magnetoelastic coupling around the Curie temperature and magnetocaloric effect in RSrCoFeO6 (R = Nd, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm) double

The main goal of this proposal is to investigate the crystal structure evolution around the Curie temperature (TC) and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) at low temperatures in RSrCoFeO6 (R = Nd, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm) double perovskites using the state-of-art high-resolution synchrotron x-ray diffractometer available at the beamline ID22, ESRF. The main question to be addressed is the following: what is the correlation of magnetoelastic coupling to the magnetocaloric effect in the series of double perovskites RSrCoFeO6 (R = Nd, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm)?
