Raw data for publication: Residents and transients – fish community dynamics in a highly anthropized tidal North Sea estuary across the annual cycle

Occurrence, individual total length (mm), and mass (g) data of fish specimens collected from a stationary stow net (mesh size in the cod end: 12 mm) placed in the tidal Ems River near Leer, Germany (53°14’49.7”N 7°23’47.5”E). Samples were collected once per week (usually during effluent water, shortly before low tide) from November 2020 to December 2021, except for two subsequent weeks in February 2021 (total: 57 hauls). Specimens were identified to species or genus level based on morphology or using DNA barcoding (50 specimens). Total length (TL) and mass of every specimen were measured on thawed samples, excluding damaged specimens, as well as endangered and protected species (e.g., <i>Lampetra fluviatilis</i>). Available metadata are haul duration [h] and effective (i.e. submerged) net aperture [m2] averaged per haul (see journal publication for details of computation).
