Root fungal ITS2 amplicon dataset from radiata pine seedlings fertigated with amino-acid versus inorganic nitrogen sources

Radiata pine (Pinus radiata) seedlings were grown for six months under four fertigation regimes that supplied identical total N either as inorganic salts or as an amino-acid biostimulant (full- and half-strength). Lateral roots from 6 block replicates (3 plants per block) were sampled to characterise the root-associated fungal community. DNA (aprox. 100 mg root) was extracted with the ISOLATE II Plant DNA Kit and the ITS2 region was amplified in a two-step PCR (primers per Chen et al. 2021). Paired-end reads were generated on an Illumina MiSeq at the NSW DPIRD Advanced Gene Technology Centre.
