资源简介:
The striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) is a species of shark catfish (family Pangasiidae) native to the rivers of Southeast Asia. It has some morphological features that make it look like a shark. It is heavily cultivated as a food source, and endangered of extinction in the wild. This genome is from an animal collected by Joost Woltering and Axel Meyer from a fish market in Frankfurt, Germany, and likely from a breeding agriculture source. The sample was used to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing was conducted at the the Max Planck Dresden Genome Center in Germany, conducted and coordinated by Gene Myers, Sylke Winkler, and Thomas Brown.
