DATASET: seed fatty acid profile in 172 common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) lines from the Spanish Diversity Panel.

This dataset comprises the characterization of the seed fatty acid profile in 172 common bean lines from the Spanish Diversity Panel. Each line was field-grown in Villaviciosa (Spain) and evaluated in two different seasons, 2018 and 2023. Fatty acid extraction and analysis were conducted following the protocol described by Rodríguez-Madrera et al. (2024, DOI:10.3390/foods13132023). Based on 3,099 single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers (Campa et al. 2018, DOI:10.3390/genes9110518) the lines were classified into three genetic groups: Andean, Mesoamerican, or middle for those showing evidence of introgression between Andean and Mesoamerican gene pools.
