Minutes of Meeting: IFLA Regional Council, 22 August 2025

The first meeting of the Regional Council 2025-2027 was held physically on 22 August 2025 during WLIC 2025, in Astana, Kazakhstan. Items discussed during this meeting include a welcome by the Regional Council Chair, followed by updates from Regional Division Committee Chairs, President, Secretary General, Professional Council Chair and Headquarters. Additionally, there were tools presented to support the work of the Regional Council and Regional Units. Ways of working with other IFLA bodies were explored. Other matters discussed were: establishing priorities and defining an action plan; planning for future meetings; electing a Regional Council vice-chair; frequency and length of meetings; maximising the value of meetings.
