Ciliates such as Colpoda cucullus is forming resting cysts (encystment) to survive in unsuitable environment. The process of encystment accompanied by drastic morphogenesis. In this study we performed comparative transcriptomic analysis between vegetative cells and cysts through RNA-sequencing and bioinfomatic techniques.
