Estrogen receptor alpha (ER) is a transcription factor that induces cell proliferation, and its expression and activity are increased in a large subset of breast cancers. We found that FK506-binding protein (FKBP)51 and FKBP52 regulate the stability of ER. To investigate the role of FKBPs in ER-positive breast cancer cells, RNA-sequencing was performed in FKBP knockdown MCF7 cells.
