CCS_SF_01 lander was equiped with the ASL Environmental Sciences, Acoustic Zooplankton Fish Profiler (AZFP) echosounder an upward looking four frequency (38, 125, 200 and 455 kHz) echosounder. The AZFP consists of four single beam transducers, a transceiver and battery pack housed within a pressure cannister. Transducers were mounted to a gimbal plate to ensure vertical transmission. Rubber mounts were positioned between the mounting plate and transducer, to reduce noise artefacts that are common in these instruments. The echosounder completed a transmission and receive cycle every five seconds, continuously for the duration of the deployment period.
