The FoRAGE (Functional Responses from Around the Globe in all Ecosystems) database: a compilation of functional responses for consumers and parasitoids, v.4 (2023).

This dataset contains 3,013 functional responses for all types of consumers from around the globe. We obtained original functional response curves from publications, standardized the spatial and temporal units of prey density and foraging rate, and refit the curves using standardized methods. The functional response data are augmented with additional information on the habitat and dimensionality of the foraging interaction, predator and prey types and body masses, temperature, and size of the experimental unit. The purpose of the dataset is to provide a global view on the magnitude of predator-prey interaction strengths and to identify the main drivers of variation in functional responses. The FoRAGE database is a living dataset and is intended to be expanded upon the acquisition of additional functional responses. This is the second 2023 update, v4, that includes 139 new rows, additional mass estimates, and a handful of corrections from v3.
