Inbred mouse strains are classified by the extent of the kidney fungal burden and susceptibility (S) or resistance (R). AKR/J and SM/J mouse strains, denoted by *, were found to be discordant. All strains were genotyped to confirm their C5 allele. a0-C5 deficient; 1-C5 sufficient. bR-resistant; S-susceptible. *Discordant strains.
