We have conducted targeted next-generation sequencing on a large and well-phenotyped cohort of individuals with Bicuspid aortic valve. The study approach used a combinatorial pooling of subject samples coupled with targeted capture of selected genes important in heart valve formation. This allowed for focused and cost-effective screening of genes relevant to heart valve formation in a large cohort.
