This BioProject investigates the microbial ecology and evolutionary dynamics of bacterial communities residing on personal shavers-a unique artificial microenvironment subjected to extreme selective pressures, including exposure to heavy metals and biocides. Using a combined approach of shotgun metagenomics and whole-genome sequencing (WGS) of 48 viable bacterial isolates, this study aims to unveil the adaptive mechanisms that enable bacterial survival and persistence in this stressful environment.
