Human gut microbiome association with Fasciola Hepatica infection in Peru

Whole metagenomic shotgun samples of the human gut microbiome are analyzed with and without Fasciola Hepatica infection, and before and after TCBZ treatment. Microbiome features associated with infection and associated with "responders" and "non-responders" to TCBZ treatment are identified and characterized in detail. Many features are associated with the gut microbiomes of non-responders vs responders, identifying strong associations between the microbiome and treatment success.
