This dataset contains structured records documenting field testing of a live-trapping device designed for selective capture of muskrat (Ondatra zibethicus). The dataset includes standardized entries describing device functionality, performance of mechanical components, stability in field conditions, operational handling, and monitoring efficiency including remote monitoring via camera traps. Field testing was conducted in 2024–2025 in the locality of Hrabišín (Šumperk district, Czech Republic), covering both intravilan (built-up areas) and extravilan (open landscape / hunting ground) environments. The field testing of the device, including installation, operation, and practical performance validation, was carried out by the hunting ground user of Hrabišín (game manager). The dataset authors (Mendel University in Brno) received the field records and subsequently processed, standardized, and evaluated the data into a structured tabular form suitable for archiving and publication. The dataset serves as supporting evidence for functional prototype validation and can be used for reproducible assessment of device performance, selectivity, and practical applicability in invasive species management.
