Systems and methods for automatically monitoring product usage， such as the type and amount of agricultural and / or horticultural products stored by and / or dispensed from cartridges by geographic location over time. The monitored data is stored in the same memory as the tag of the cartridge and can be sent to the server for storage， aggregation and analysis. The cartridge may be certified before it is licensed for the current user in dispensing the product. The cartridge may be refilled after checking the refill equipment tag and the authentication code on the cartridge. The cartridge may be automatically calibrated to the cartridge based on the bulk density of the product or other parameters. Data can be automatically aggregated from a plurality of cartridges. Data applied from individual cartridges can be used to verify regardless of operator input， processed area coverage and product coverage.
