Antibiotic-depletion of mouse gut before engraftment with FMT

Fecal microbiota transplant is being used increasingly as a therapeutic measure for gut diseases. Mouse models do not accurately reflect the human gut so need to be "humanized". Germ-free facilities are commonly used for FMT studies, however this is not always feasible and germ-free mice do not have mature immune systems. Here we describe a method for antibiotic depletion of the mouse gut, followed by FMT engraftment which may be used as a standardized method for future studies.
