This dataset is a compilation of Statistics Canada Dissemination Areas with associated population data from the 2016 Census. This dataset was created for statistical purposes and to perform population calculations. According to Statistics Canada, a dissemination area (DA) is a small, relatively stable geographic unit composed of one or more adjacent dissemination blocks with an average population of 400 to 700 persons.
