Dataset, R code and PRIMER file for: Limitations of ARMS in Detecting Predator Effects on Coral Reef Benthic Assemblages

This dataset accompanies the manuscript “Limitations of Autonomous Reef Monitoring Structures (ARMS) in Detecting Predator Effects on Coral Reef Benthic Assemblages”, submitted to the Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology. It contains all data and scripts required to reproduce the main figures and tables presented in the article and supplementary material. The dataset includes: data_raw.xlsx: A multi-sheet Excel file with the following content: mobile_fauna: Abundance of mobile organisms per ARMS unit (R-readable format). mobile_fauna PRIMER: Same abundance data formatted for PRIMER v7. sessile: Relative cover of sessile organisms (CATAMI categories) per ARMS unit (R-readable format). sessile PRIMER: Same cover data formatted for PRIMER v7. taxonomy_mobile: Taxonomic reference (phylum, family) for mobile fauna. CATAMI_reference: List and definitions of CATAMI classification codes used in the sessile dataset. codes_figures_tables.R: R script used to generate: Figure 2: Diversity and abundance of mobile taxa by treatment and block. Figure 3: mMDS ordination of mobile fauna composition. Figure 5: mMDS ordination of sessile assemblages. Supplementary Tables 2, 3, and 4: Summary of family-level richness and abundance. PERMANOVA_shadeplot.pwk: Workspace file for PRIMER v7 + PERMANOVA+, used to conduct multivariate analyses and generate: PERMANOVA results (Tables 2 and 3 of the manuscript).
