杉木生长与材性联合遗传改良研究

该项目经过8年的努力, 比较全面地揭示了杉木材性、生长性状的变异和遗传规律, 发现了母本效应对木材比重的遗传控制作用, 生长与材性间无明显相关关系, 以及利用10~15年生的幼龄材可较好地预测成熟材的比重和管胞长度, 从而首次提出了杉木生长和材性分阶段独立选择的理论, 为杉木速生优质新品种的选育提供了科学的理论依据。选出了生长材质兼优种源8个, 自由授粉家系5个, 全同胞家系7个, 具有很强的生产实用性和良好的社会经济效益, 直接解决了当前工业用材林新品种定向培育的问题, 为林木遗传改良开拓子一条新途径。
Following eight years of intensive research, this project comprehensively revealed the variation and genetic patterns of wood properties and growth traits in Chinese fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata). It discovered the genetic control effect of maternal effect on wood specific gravity, found no significant correlation between growth traits and wood properties, and demonstrated that 10- to 15-year-old juvenile wood can effectively predict the specific gravity and tracheid length of mature wood. Thus, it for the first time proposed the theory of staged independent selection for growth and wood properties of Chinese fir, providing a scientific theoretical basis for the breeding and selection of fast-growing and high-quality new Chinese fir varieties. Eight provenances with excellent growth and wood properties, five open-pollinated families, and seven full-sib families were selected. These materials have strong production practicality and favorable social and economic benefits, directly solving the current issue of targeted cultivation of new varieties for industrial timber plantations, and opening a new avenue for forest tree genetic improvement.
