WK3. Techniques & data: field training with plants; Woodlot, Dataset 3

Data was collected at York University's Keele Campus on pairs of adult trees and their respective distances from each other, heights and physical conditions. This was done using a transect measuring tape with which we walked in a straight line starting from the edge of the woodlot to the centre. At every instance an adult tree was encountered on that path, we recorded the distance between that tree and it’s closest neighbouring adult tree using a second transect (in metres), and the tree’s DBH using a second transect (also in metres), and finally the tree’s physical condition on a scale of 0-2. The scale measured the condition as either 0 = dead, 1 = living, or 2 = huge green canopy.
