The three full-polarimetric data sets listed here were used in our study to verify the effectiveness of the improved preprocessing procedure. These data have been read by PolSARpro and each contains four scattering matrix elements in binary format. The corresponding original data were retrieved through the website of the Alaska Satellite Facility Distribute Active Archive Centre (ASF DAAC). These three data sets (denoted by Scenes A, B, and C) were acquired in the vicinity of several freshwater lakes in mid-latitude North America by the Advanced Land Observation Satellite (ALOS) Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR). Each scene contains land and lake. From the perspective of land cover types, Scenes A (data identity: ALPSRP277750940) and B (data identity: ALPSRP277310860) are featured with lush forest and various forms of farmland, respectively. As for Scene C (data identity: ALPSRP275560840), it is partially featured by dense urban buildings along the Detroit River, apart from a chunk of farmland like Scene B. Thanks the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and ASF DAAC for providing these high-quality ALOS PALSAR full-polarimetric data.
