Serendipitous virus discovery through sequencing

Unexpected detection of viral sequence from a sample can occur from Next-Gen data sets generated by sequence-independent library construction. This bioproject includes viral sequences obtained during analysis of Next-Gen sequencing reads where a recovered viral sequence differs from an expected target. These viral sequences include (but are not limited to) contaminants, co-infections, and newly identified viral sequences previously unknown to the sample of interest.
