Records of Allan George Thompson

This paper-based research collection relates to economic history academic Allan George Thompson. The collection includes material from the University of Melbourne Asian Business Research Programme, including tapes, transcripts, questionnaires, relating to both expatriate and local personnel of Asian branches of Australian companies (or of Asian-based Australian companies in a few cases?). Interviews conducted by Thompson in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines, and at Head Office. Files are arranged alphabetically by company name within each country. As well as transcripts, there are some questionnaire returns, notes of interview, correspondence, articles, and Annual Reports. Copies of Dr. Thompson's reports are available in the Baillieu Library.
