pTau217 immunoassays in Alzheimer's Disease continuum: a comparative study of Ella and Lumipulse

The database includes the raw data of the article “pTau217 immunoassays in Alzheimer’s Disease continuum: a comparative study of Ella and Lumipulse”. This work aimed to test Lumipulse and Ella, two platforms frequently used in clinical research, and compare their performance when it comes to pTau217 detection in plasma representing a turning point in research application.

The database contains the data obtained by the following evaluations: a) evaluation of pTau217 concentration (pg/mL) measured with Lumipulse and Ella in each diagnostic group, b) correlation between raw MMSE score and pTau217 concentration in each diagnostic group, c) correlation between age and pTau217 concentration in each diagnostic group.

We saw that higher pTau217 levels correspond to lower MMSE scores, lower MMSE scores correspond to a more severe degree of pathology from SCD to AD. The detected plasma levels of pTau217 increased as the severity of dementia increased using both Lumipulse and Ella. The Bland Altman analysis showed a coherence between the two assays, meaning that the two techniques are comparable from a qualitative point of view. Both platforms provided overlapping results with just a few exceptions, meaning that they are both reliable techniques to measure pTau217 levels in plasma in AD-dementia like patients to monitor the pathology and its progression.
