In this project we evaluated the in vivo effect of commercially available S-reutericyclin on the fecal microbiome and volatile organic compound profile of mice. Mice of the reutericyclin group exhibited a trend towards decreased alpha diversity, significantly altered beta diversity and a trend towards dysbiosis in the LEfSE analysis. The boom, mapping and taxonomy file can be obtained below. The groups addressed in this study are labelled with AQ (control group) and RZ (S-reuterizyclin group). VOC analysis showed significant alterations of Pentane, Heptane, 2,3-Butanediol and 2-Heptanone in the headspace of fecal samples. The VOC data can be accessed below. AQ are control animals, RZ the intervention group and RAL room air samples.
