VPRS 11421 Register of Board Papers

This series comprises a register of board papers for the Victorian Post-Secondary Education Commission Accreditation Board 1981-1987, the Executive Committee of the Accreditation Board 1985-1987; the Victorian Post-Secondary Education Accreditation Board (VPSEAB) 1987-1990, and the Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board 1991-1991.The register was initially created to control the board papers of the VPSEC Accreditation Board, see VPRS 11425. The VPSEC Accreditation Board and its Executive Committee was responsible for the accreditation of courses offered at Colleges of Advanced Education and Institutes of Technology. The Board was concerned with the quality and standard of courses. It was established as a Board of VPSEC in December 1980 and was replaced by VPSEAB in July 1987.The series was transferred to the custody of VPSEAB when it was established. VPSEAB continued to add to the series to control their own board papers, see VPRS 11422. VPSEAB was responsible for the accreditation of advanced education courses and TAFE courses.Finally the series was transferred to and used by the Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board for control of their own board papers. These board papers have not been transferred to the PRO as at November 1997.The register allocated a number to each paper received, recorded a brief precis of the subject of each paper, the date, and a file number reference, see VPRS 8536 for Accreditation Board and Executive Committee files, and VPRS 8536 and VPRS 8539 for VPSEAB. The location of the files of VETAB is not known.
