Dataset of Wildlife Conservation Awareness and Attitudes Toward the Conservation of Endangered Animals in India Among High School and College Students in 2026: Questionnaire and Aggregated Survey Results

This record contains the original questionnaire and aggregated survey results supporting the independent study titled "The Species Visibility Gap in Wildlife Conservation Awareness Among High School and College Students in India: A Questionnaire-Based Study on Endangered Animals and Conservation Attitudes in 2026." The online questionnaire received 200 submissions in 2026. Eleven submissions did not record consent and were excluded, leaving 189 consented responses for descriptive analysis. The survey examined awareness of the term endangered species, recognition of selected Indian wildlife, perceptions of lesser known species, knowledge of threats and conservation efforts, factual species knowledge, sources of wildlife learning, conservation attitudes, previous participation and future willingness. The record includes the questionnaire, aggregate response charts, structured response counts and percentages, and a data dictionary. Participant-level responses are not deposited. The public files contain no names, email addresses, phone numbers, school or college names, individual timestamps or non-consenting submissions. State or Union Territory text responses and open-ended responses are not included in the aggregate release.
