VPRS 13423 Engineering Project Files

This series documented various engineering projects undertaken by the Railway Construction Branch of the Board of Land and Works (VA 690) from 1914 and 1965 and the Railway Construction Board VA 691 from 1965 to 1968. Projects included the building of bridges, culverts and other structures required for railway transport. Including:- Engineering records such as notes and algebraic calculations for testing the component parts of structures and clearance surveys- Plans, drawings, final designs, deflectometer and strainmeter tests (for testing the strength of bridges while carrying locomotives) and compression tests for concrete conducted by the State Rivers and Water Supply Commission (VA 723)- Cost and project estimates and material quantity tables,- Earthwork quantity estimates for the Tallarook to Mansfield; Wodonga to Cudgewa; and Wodonga to Tallangatta lines and- Contract and general correspondence.
