The main goal of this proposal is assessing the PT stability field of leucite polymorphs, a rock-forming tectosilicate in K-rich mafic and ultramafic rocks, by conducting in-situ high-resolution X-ray powder diffraction experiments. We intend to perform two HPHT runs using the ID06 multianvil press with standard setup. This will allow to obtain an accurate phase diagram, with the pressure-temperature stability ranges of the known phases of leucite, including that of the stable polymorph under upper-mantle conditions (~4 GPa and 1000°C).
